Permanent Binds (Commands without the console)

First and Foremost, This guide is MUCH more complex to follow than a simple copy this file here, and paste this file here. If you have no basic knowledge of computers (DOS, CMD Prompt, .Rar Files, .Zip Files, Full Folder Paths) then this guide is probably out of your grasp of understanding...


Notes before we begin
1) Is this detectable? I'd have to say yes... There is no injection to hide it and I'm sure Nexon knows it's there. They WILL be fixed in time, no questions asked...
2) As always do NOT hack in public, and do NOT talk about hacks in public. they're cardinal rules for all hacks...
3) Anytime "Your Name" is listed as a folder path it's meant to describe the administrator/user on the account. "C:\Users\Joe\Desktop"
4) This is done with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate so folder paths may vary
5) Things You'll Need:
(I wont help you find them. Google is your friend!)

VZipFlip
Half a Brain

Sigh, here we go!

1) Start off by installing WinRaR (or 7-ZIP but that wont be covered here) completely if you haven't already...

2) Create 2 Folders on your Desktop labeled "Test" and "Backup" make sure the file path is (C:\Users\Your Name\Desktop\Test) and the other file path isn't too important it's just a folder you're going to throw stuff in so you can't break your game.

3) Drag your newly downloaded VZipFlip5.zip file into your "Test" folder and extract all contents, after it's extracted move the .zip file into your "Backup" Folder for safe keeping.

4) Navigate to your hfs folder (C:\Nexon\Vindictus\en-US\hfs) and locate the file "FAC6B533E4D245CE8B9A67DB1472B2B98F3F54FA.hfs" Right-Click and Copy the file

5) Minimize everything to Desktop and paste the FAC...hfs file into both your "Test" and "Backup" folder. Again to prevent you from breaking your game!

To double check that everyone is with me so far. Ensure that your folder directories look like this.
"Backup" = FAC...hfs, VZipFlip5.zip
"Test" = SharpZip(Folder), VZipFlip(Folder), FAC...hfs, ICSharp...dll, readme.txt, VZipFlip.exe, VZipFlip.sln

If you got it so far let's continue

6) Now we need to open the Command Prompt. Make SURE you either run it as Admin or have UAC turned off! (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt) or (Start>Run>cmd)

Now then it should say something like, "C:\Users\Your Name>" You need to change directories to your test folder. (In Windows 7 you'd type in "cd desktop" then "cd test"

C:\Users\Your Name>
cd Desktop

C:\Users\Your Name\Desktop>
cd Test

C:\Users\Your Name\Desktop\Test

Now that you're in the correct folder it's time to convert the hfs file to a zip file

C:\Users\Your Name\Desktop\Test>
VZipFlip z FAC6B533E4D245CE8B9A67DB1472B2B98F3F54FA.hfs

If UAC is on you'll get a warning hit yes.
A list saying processing files should appear and then it'll say "Wrote to FAC...zip"
You can close the processing tab, minimize the Command Prompt

9) Now we need to Navigate to the "C:\" Drive and find our new .zip file sitting there all pretty like (You might notice a sneaky little underscore FAC..._.zip be sure to rename the file and get rid of him so we're back to FAC...zip)

10) You guessed it, copy and paste to both your test and backups folder or instead of pasting in the backup folder you can move to the next step.

11) Create a folder by the same name of the file inside of your "Test" Folder FAC6B533E4D245CE8B9A67DB1472B2B98F3F54FA(Folder) and open it up. Take the FAC...zip file you just put in your test folder and move it into this one. (C:\Users\Your Name\Desktop\Test\FAC6B533E4D245CE8B9A67DB1472B2B9 8F3F54FA)

12) Extract the FAC...zip inside this folder, then you can delete the FAC...zip inside of this folder and the FAC...hfs file in your "Test" folder (Leave the Backup Alone for the moment)

To make sure you're still with me.
"Backup" = FAC...hfs, FAC...zip, VZipFlip5.rar
"Test" = FAC6B533E4D245CE8B9A67DB1472B2B98F3F54FA(Folder), SharpZip(Folder), VZipFlip(Folder), ICSharp...dll, readme.txt, VZipFlip.exe, VZipFlip.sln
FAC6B533E4D245CE8B9A67DB1472B2B98F3F54FA(Folder) = A ton of .comp files

If you are missing something then you've done it wrong and start over!!!

All else let us continue shall we? Now we finally get to the good stuff, if you've made it this far you're almost home free!

13) Open your "Test" Folder, then open your FAC...(Folder) find the file "config_preset_common.cfg.comp" and right click it. Select "Open with..." and select Notepad. This is where you can finally pick and choose your binds!

**Note** player_monster and monster_player commands no longer work.

Binds and commands in themselves are not something I'm going to help you with, it's been posted a number of times look around through the seperate threads and do NOT create new help me threads!
An example bind:

14) After you're finished creating binds be sure to hit save and with the newly created "config_preset_common.cfg.comp" (make sure it doesn't say .txt at the end now!) you're ready to go through the previous process in reverse!

15) Select ALL the files INSIDE you're FAC...(Folder) (All the little .comp files. Right-click and select "Add to archive..." Now, when WinRaR pops up there's a little radio bubble that says "ZIP" hit it, and then select "Ok" (Select nothing else and be SURE that your underscore "_" isn't on the folder previously so your title comes out to FAC...zip again and not FAC..._.zip)

16) Copy this newly created zip file into your "test" folder (Keep the FAC...(Folder) and files there so you can change the binds in the future as needed.)

17) Open your Command Prompt (step 6) and follow step 7.

19) Delete the underscore so it's FAC...hfs instead of FAC..._.hfs!

20) Paste the FAC6B533E4D245CE8B9A67DB1472B2B98F3F54FA.hfs file into the hfs folder (C:\Nexon\Vindictus\en-US\hfs) start the game and ensure everything is working properly! Congratulations you just passed computer basics 101!


FAQ:

[Q] I got a syntax error in the command prompt!?!?
[A] As my old Computer Software II teacher used to say, if you get an error it's a USER error. Go back and repeat everything to ensure you followed all the steps (I've personally went through and double checked it as long as you're literate you can figure this out)

[Q] Are there any alternatives to editing the game files?
[A] Yes, you can use Hell_Demon's old console. Start the console, start the game (Don't log in) and bind your keys that way, shut everything down then reload the game. (If you hit options the keys will reset to their defaults)

[Q] A lot of people seem to frown on .hfs file discussion. Why are hfs files so taboo?
[A] Because hfs files have every configuration file as well as a lot of the code the game uses. Most people feel they're extremely powerful and can create UBER cheats. My Advice on that is explore them (A lot of them are encrypted so they'll crash your game be sure to back up EVERYTHING you edit)

[Q] Why are you making this public?
[A] I for one feel that as long as these console commands are around it's a flaw on Nexon/Dev Cats part. So in the long run getting these fixed will make the game better (But also give the hacking community an obstacle to overcome)

I think that's the point in the long run. Anyone who spends this much time to bind their commands, will most likely not be one of the dumb asses that freely advertise and show their hacks off.

Lol, if people think that Nexon doesn't already know about this they're very very very mistaken.
Nexon knows about the commands we use. (player_monster, monster_player)
Nexon is aware people are tampering with .hfs files
The issue is that it's a more complex fix than just changing everything to debug commands (Because eventually we'll have those too and they know it)

People worried about this being public the site is already riddled with it in separate threads this just combines them into a solid guide. I saw a post on the forums recently that I agree with (This community is backwards) A hacking community is meant to share finds and overcome obstacles together. Keeping things to yourselves then there's no reason to collaborate on a public forum. Either way, 90% of the people that read this wont be able to follow the guide thoroughly and they'll break their game. 'nuff said.

To be honest my friend, I don't know Korean and I don't use the Korean client. I can't tell you for sure what your issue is or if this will even work with the Korean client. My best guess is there's something wrong with your final .hfs file I'm sorry

i know you want some thanks on ur account but copy pasting from all over the forum really doesnt qualify, not this much rlly, maybe if there was like a collective resource thread with all tools, guides etc, but not this.also, ofc nexon knows that ppl are tampering with hfs files, but the less people that do the less of a chance that that method of hacking will be patched, so i really dont think that this should be up..yes this is a hacking community and people are supposed to share things thats true but there is also that very fine line on things that should be posted because of all of the people who will misuse/abuse it, this method was great to keep on the low, while the console is public, i rlly think it should be taken down, cause there will be ppl who do stupid stuff with it and ruin it for the rest of us
