First, its complete bs to say that arma 2 is badly optimized, or that its performance is in any way bad. It has a shitload of bugs, but for a milsim that covers 200 sqare kms open world multiplayer is its performance actually more than excellent, imho. It's not a traditional game, its a military simulation, no one expects top notch performance for a milsim. Dayz is a game, although realistic, thats one of the reasons why its coming as standalone in 2013. But arma 2 is very good piece of code, i would dare to say excellent, if it werent for those ridiculous bugs. tldr, there is nothing to be fixed, and they will not.

Arma 2 seems to be very badly optimized although I get like 80-100 FPS on Panthera where as I only get 30-ish on Namalsk. Weird.
