Hi all,
The story :
Yesterday, while i was using a L96A1 to DSR-1 Subsonic mod, i noticed when i picked
a L96A1 with a suppressor that the DSR-1 Model had the cannon + suppressor going in the horizontal direction.
So an idea popped in my head : Could it be a way to create a cross-hair by Rez modding like this.
Clearly speaking :
You see, my idea is, if there is a possibility to put a Crosshair image (A cross) out of the normal range
of the weapon's image (representation on screen) so it would appear in the center ??
But also, my logic tells me that if it went in the horizontal direction, it's maybe because it cannot go any further.
So In Conclusion : I'm asking about the possibility of such a method.
Disclaimer : I'm not sure if "Model edit" is the correct term.
Edit : Here's what i'm talking about

I am not quite understand what you are suggesting, but there are cleaner ways to get a crosshair, a good example being my shader mods.
You could easily just add a quad to the model and make your own crosshair texture if you wanted to model edit one.
i like the idea but no scoping isnt on the center anyways

Yes, that's exactly what i'm talking about. You see, I know that IT will move while running, but there will still be the normal CA x-hair, so when aiming to shoot, it will come back right at ya in the center.
Well, the recoil is also affecting the normal CA x-hair so ..., and yeah it's true that getting the right center would take forever ... Lol.
What do you mean ??
Well, you see, my objective is to get a crosshair by .REZ modding, so if your method is involving it, and is simpler than what im talking about, well i'd like to see an example
This idea is made to work much more on the psychological level. It would help the mind having a better aim by always knowing where your gun is pointing at. I could find and edit a SS to help see what i mean.

This is a con of such a way but there will still be a pro because in my view,
This would be meant to work along with the wide-open normal CA crosshair.
The point wouldn't be to have a super x-hair always in the center, but have a xhair that will help correct really fast your aiming.
PS: It could be annoying ...![]()

i understand exactly what your getting at...and i think it'd be easy to do.
you can add attachments to guns through model edit so with thinking that, you could make a flat object that just out in front of the gun and therefore being a crosshair
i know you can do a crosshair via FX file editing (drigien did it) and maybe even by the render styles but i have no idea about model edit...i'll give it a shot
