well I have a couple questions that arent in the tutorials, dont laugh but in photoshop cs5 when i put a image on it and place it how do i resize it?

post the questions here,

to answer your current question you can;

A. press Ctrl + T to "free transform" it so scale it down with your mouse or hold the corners and hold shift for perfect scaling,

or

B. go up to "IMAGE" and look for "Image Size" or the corresponding key of "Alt + Ctrl + I" and then change the dimensions from either the "width" or "Height" in pixels/cm's whatever you chose.
