I just wanted to ask you if you believe that God has created the world in seven days?
I just wanted to ask you if you believe that God has created the world in seven days?
Majority of christians don't believe in the literal translation so I don't see why anyone should.....
Im wondering becouse i was talking with priest few days ago and he told me "Its sin if you doubt in Bible" and in Bible it says clearly God has created world in 7 days..
Well two things I want to say.
1. I don't believe it's a sin to have doubts about the bible. In fact many christian pastors claim to have greater faith through doubting the bible then re-affirming their faith. If he says it again: please ask him the verse and context, because that is more of a "threat" than an informational piece.
-It's like a Muslim going "it's a sin to doubt the quran" so that you feel guilty. It's not informing you what sins are, it's threatening you.
2. The vast majority of christians simply no longer believe it happened in seven literal days. There is a bunch of things in the bible that have incorrect measurements.(example: noah's arc) Also there is a bunch of contradictory measurements(because for some reason repetition is needed in the bible, idk why).
It's not doubting the bible, it's just not taking everything for a literal translation.
You have any questions on it, feel free to ask.
Darwins' theory isn't the exact theory of evolution to date, it is the start though. I'm pretty sure we can answer the general questions you have on christianity or evolution, from an informational standpoint.

Thank you @Empire you always give me very good explanation.I like to debate with you becouse you are so smart!
Well the thing i dont belive in Darwin's theory is that human's evolved from monkey,we are similar its fact, but we have nous and intellect.
Except Darwin's theory never states that we evolved from monkeys.

@Empire I sincerely doubt the validity of Darwin's evolution theory..
No. I don't. but I'm not religious. Most religious people should.
Stop taking things so literally. Your priest sounds like a moron. What the hell were 7 days back then? In the times it was written, the idea of tens of thousands of years is not even fathomable, so people relate what they see into what they can explain.
Example: bring a person from the 1300's-1700's and show them a jet, they're probably call it a giant creature as hard as stone with people in it's belly. Take that literally and you have a fucking dragon.
