how about logic?
2 parties allows the population to have a majority of the vote on whoever wins.
3+ means the majority of the people who have voted will have voted against the person who won the election.
and the other parties have a great effect, they provide special interest, and can sway the vote. (bush v gore)
its that simple.
The world is a second world country. Phail.
Personally, I think that the two party system doesn't actually matter. Republicans have voted for right-maniac democrats and vice versa, the two parties are just self-sustaining economic machines, not an actual seperation of view points (as I think they should be. In which case I would say that there should be more parties).
its really not that simple though. the 2 party system allows for both hard headed parties to take control of the governement and doesn't allow for someone who isnt primarily conservative or liberal in the government. The whole majority vote idea doesnt need the 2 party system to work it just needs alot of people who believe in the same idea and vote for that to work. This isnt a complete list of parties but is almost right List of political parties in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
in that link you will see parties that have absolutely no effect besides swining the vote every blue moon.
Those parties do provide special interests to the government but dont make the final decision, thats left for the 2 primary parties that this thread is talking about.
Parties have split the senate in half even. Republicans and Democrats dont sit together (I lolled when i typed that, since its so childish)
People in the government can argue without being in a party and come to solutions together without being in a party. They're simply not needed.
and importantly when George Washington wrote his Farewell adress he didnt want the government to split to parties (thought they were different parties then republicans and democrats at the time). He knew that we could make decisions without them.
No one messes with GW's wishes. It's F***ing George Washington!
support the socialist party? Please?
"We swallow greedily any lie that flatters us, but we sip only little by little at a truth we find bitter." ~ Denis Diderot
There should be no parties at all, just people running based on their beliefs. The party system is a huge cause of corruption and division. Even Washington warned against having parties. They divide and separate people, and don't promote cooperation at all.
What would not even work, in Israel. If we follow that rule, the Nazi Party could be a leadership in Israel, now that'll be fuck up. Big time, if you do not understands what I am saying, please. Crack open a book. Anyways, let say I come into North Korea and say, "FREEDOM!!!" I would be shot between the eyes. Yeah, put fucking two in my ten spot. The thing is that system will never work, you can have a very corrupt system still. Hell, a majority would still be corrupted because you're giving them power. If the KKK have enough power because of 'belief' then you're into a lot of fuck up problems.
Theocracy run on a no party, it control by 'God'. Therefore, I can say you're a wizard and watch your ass burn at the sake or some fuck up shit.
Some people like me, are Jewish and will be killed.
Some people who are Muslim will be too.
It's because of a no party, a single party will control it. NO MATTER WHAT GOVERNMENT, there will ALWAYS be a single party, always.
People like George Mush and JohnMcGayn make it screwed up
Bush was elected twice. though, I dont see how he screwed it up. I blame the voters who voted for him for dumb reasons(they say he was gaining lots of support when Bush said he was Christian, although he now says he is not)
2 Parties, I have to say I do not enjoy this. I follow the way China does it, because there is always a great qualified educated leader who is selected.
bye
I dont see how. China's Stimulus Plan is working well according to the news. The U.S. is tossing cash around and doesnt appear to be very effective to take care of pertinent matters. Although, big buisness have benefited by taking large ammounts of Bailout cash and use them as pay check bonuses while the ones who really need it are overlooked.
Dont mention Human Rights problems b/c there are none. The Chinese Government is effectively handling important issues so far.
