Basically do you use your own connection to DDoS or is it a server-box (or something) DDoS'ing them?

I can give it a go xD But that's pretty useless unless you have a fast proxy

Good proxies are extremely easy to come by my friend

If you are planning to take down anything at all, here's something you should keep in mind. Whatever you are doing to others, you are doing to yourself. Lagging a friend with 10Mbps? You are also lagging yourself with 10Mbps. It's a little of a vicious cycle but imagine a highway with 2-5 lanes, all you are doing is sending multiple cars down your highway to your targets highway to try and clog it up, not knowing that your own highway is getting clogged,

Useful for taking down someone that has a way shittier internet than you have... Not so useful for taking down servers.

I dont see how proxies make you anonymous.. If you connect to one, it leaves a huge crumb which can be traced back.
A better way would be to have your computer connect to a proxy. From the proxy connect to a backdoor computer, through it connect to another proxy. This will minimise your chances of getting caught, however you need to get a backdoor into someones computer.

At least try using a free booter online:
An alright free booter is called 'vbooter', a quick google search should get you there.

^ It will take the stress off your connection and most likely hit with a lot more power.
