Buddy... you're going to the wrong people. The only producer on this thread, that I know of, is me. I use Ableton live. Very professional, simple, but definitely not too simple. You have to learn some things, but it's easy enough to start with. I hate FL Studio, personally.

As far as I know, most people use Ableton, Sonar (Cakewalk), Kore, and FLStudio.
Don't knock FLStudio. The plugins are what make that software so effective and powerful.

The plugins are insane, not only are the effects and presets great but the UI for each plugin is sick

Ableton has that plus some. More than a gig in the library.

But I don't want to be the dude saying you have to do this and that. Try them both, deside which one you like best. If you need help around ableton, ill tinychat or whatever with you and show my desktop and go from there.
