iPhone 4S iOS 6.1 Hacktivate?

Hello iOS forums, I have a quick question for you guys.

So my friend has recently bought a iPhone 5 and has given to me his old iPhone 4S, which had the latest iOS (6.1)
So I erased all his data and freshly restored a new iOS 6.1 firmware, but I do not know how to bypass the carrier activation on the phone.

I intend to use this iPhone as an iTouch so I do not have a carrier to activate this phone under.

I tried using SnowBreeze to cook my IPA file but it seems the latest version 2.9.8 is not usable with iPhone 4S 6.1 firmware.

Is there another way to hacktivate this 4S?

I'm pretty sure if you jailbreak it using evasi0n it bypasses that activation screen. If not use redsn0w and press the jailbreak button, follow the instruction and only check what's needed. Then after that's all set run the evasi0n jailbreak and you should have an untethered jailbroken iPhone that's been hacktivated
