i can convert the ltb's just fine...
i can open them up in model edit no problem
YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE WAY THE MODELS LOOK IN MODEL EDIT

although you CAN alter the animation ( ithink)
you instead of reloading you can make ur guy give the middle finger.......
dont quote me on any of this cause i havnt had much time to play around with it.

I have some plugins to import lta files to 3ds max though... so you CAN use this to edit any part of the model, including making custom animations. You just need a program that can import and export lta files.
Dude... What he means is that your texture will be plain white so thats why you must texture it again wow.
Wrong look at the results of what you really need to do and trust me I've have been Animating since 2007 and you must have a hand if you don't then your animation will look like this

And lemme ask you one more thing, if you do know how do you make the texture? And here's a hint 3DS max/Maya and which presets?

I have been working on my own scripts for 3ds max, as you need to compile plugins for a specific version (and keep compiling for every new version). It works pretty decently, only a few minor bugs, but it doesn't support animations as of yet.
Maya tends to be used more for high end production ( Movies/SFX ) where as 3ds max tends to be used more for game development, or was the case awhile ago. It is probably more even now that they are both run by the same company.

@AVGN: I Guess it's just kinda personal preference. Max is defiantly powerful enough to work for CA, and Maya wouldn't add anything that Max Wouldn't. Plus I Learned on Max so I'm used to it and I like it better
