It happens a lot.
Someone is hacking so you are going to save the replay.
You did something sweet and you want to save the replay.
What ever the reason you want to save this.
But... you forgot to, or maybe you got kicked, or maybe you were kicked from the lobby before you could click on save at the end.
No longer is this an issue. I have found out you can save the replay in any of these cases.
As you are playing each game a temp replay files is saved every so often. When you miss your chance to save one here is what you do
1)Do NOT exit the game, and DO NOT join a new game.
2)Put crossfire into windowed menu mode if it's not (it's in the options)
3)Make your way to My Documents/CrossFire/Replay
4)Find a file called "ReplayTemp.rtp" This is your replay from the last game
5)Rename the file to something else but make sure the file extension is ".cfr"
****Do Not exit the game fully, it will delete the temporary file. To use this trick/technique you must alt tab out or have the game open in windowed mode****
If you can not see the file extension and it is just called "ReplayTemp" you need to enable the option in windows
To enable the showing of file extensions in Windows XP How to Show File Extensions in Windows
To enable the showing of file extensions in Windows Vista go Vista: Show or Unhide File Extensions | Microsoft Vista | Tech-Recipes
I have tested this to some degree and it seems to work each time. If anyone runs into bugs with this let me know.
