the deaths all have meaning behind every single one of them,

It's not that they don't have meaning behind them, it's just that characters like Chelsea would show up and die in almost two episodes.

the character development is beyond good

I couldn't spot any. They started it off with Tatsumi wanting to join the capital and fight for them to save his village, then that was immediately changed within the first episode. So, now he's the enemy of the capital because of one crazy bitch? That hardly seems plausible. Granted everything after this event was enough of a motive to go against them, he joined Night Raid on a whim of instinct and hatred of one person.

He was weak and helpless at the start, I'll give you that. But getting a weapon that is basically making yourself a martyr isn't exactly strong. In terms of fighting, Esdeath was probably the strongest, maybe Akame(though I believe she eventually died a few minutes after that fight)

The only good thing we got out of Akame ga Kill was a bikini episode for Mine and Chelsea. Plus the ending scene of Tatsumi dieing was good wallpaper material.
