Noone would believe in god if there wasnt some man made book writing about it.
the human brain couldnt imagine a magical man in the sky moving around arcs in a massive flood part of the creation of the world he lives in.
starwars is more scientifically accurate than the fucking bible
So again, your strong belief not based on proof/reason is not an argument.
Just because you strongly believe it, does not make it true.
You have not provided any reason for why we should believe in a god.
You lose, good day sir.
Ok, I'll give you a reason to believe in a God. Most Gods promise a pleasant afterlife which gives you an answer to something that is otherwise unanswerable. Gods often give you a moral compass of sorts, which you have full freedom to follow or not follow. Many religions have bibles, which often give an in depth understanding of certain aspects of life, which you can interpret in any way you like.
Those sound like good reasons to me.
The promise of an afterlife is dishonest. If nothing supports the claim, the claim is not true.
-provide reasoning otherwise
There is nothing to indicate a god gives us morality. There is everything to indicate our morality coming from natural processes.
-provide reasoning otherwise
If the bible is up to interpretation, it is therefore not an objective piece of understanding but merely taking what you want from the text.
-I could say the same thing about Shakespeare or any literary work for that matter.
A god = deity of control or creation of something. Example: Zeus, Hades, Thor, Odin, etc. etc.
[Note] This is a concept, not a fact. Zeus does not cast lightning bolts from the sky.
God = the abrahamic religion's god. Generally when it's "God" it's christian, as jews refer to it as Yawheh and muslims Allah.
I believe it was quite clear we are talking about the gods of religion.
What does bacteria have to do with the afterlife?
Also to Empire, Religion encourages positive morals... there's lots of cases where religion gave someone reason to be a good person in general, and no proof doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong, just means it's belief is based on FAITH!

it means thats it.
you are dead.
we are just like an apple getting eaten or cut up. its "soul" also doesnt leave for the afterlife right? we are made from the same shit as apples.
ADDITIONALLY
religion does NOT encourage positive morals because it works in an oppressive system that gives horrible instructions and laws to people
Well here's a deeper question for you: Why should we use faith for anything?
[Explanation:] You keep saying "it's based on faith" but you have not explained why faith is a sufficient reason to follow or believe in a religion.
Also, religion influencing people can be good or bad. Traditional education on morality is far more effective than the scare-tactics behind religion.
Again, and I can't stress this enough. Saying "it's based on faith" is not a positive argument for religion.
I can give you any number of reasons why faith is wrong, but I'd rather have you explain why you think faith is a good system for believing in anything.
