I saw this on my friend post, the struggle of having both pets.
BTW, I have a cat a home named Esme, she is old and most of the time in her bed. A friend of mine told me that I should get one of these heated pet beds for cats as it helps in regulating the body temperature. Do you think that it is necessary to invest in this product?

If in the future we could genetically engineer pets to never have to poop, pee, or throw up, then dogs every day. However, until science reaches that point cats are the way to go.

Depends, Cats are like dogs, but grown up, They can deal with their own stuff, go outside alone, dont always have to go outside for a shit, can stay inside.
Dogs are like kids, you gotta go outside with them, keep an eye on them most of the time, and you cant leave em alone for too long. Cats dont really care aslong as you dont go overboard with not being at home.
That being said, i prefer dog. I dont have a Wife/Kids, so im ok with caring for my dog. My Cat is basically just someone living with me, like a Student or something.

Depends on the lifestyle. If you're more high-maintenance then you'll enjoy a dog but cats require less effort.

Well said, but that also depends on the breed of both. For example, bigger dog breeds may require less attention compared to the exotic cat breeds. Here check this page for a reference and you'll get what I mean.
