how to know what pokemon are good?

how do i know what pokemon is better to keep? do i go for CP or IV? and also should i trust the appraisal system of pokemon go?

You should keep it based on IV, not CP. However, since there's really no battling outside of gyms yet, if you just want to brag to friends then keeping the higher CP value is probably better, as IV is a hidden stat.

The appraisal system is a good indicator of the IV of each Pokemon (just search up which statement correlates with which percentage).

Personally, I would only worry about IV for high CP pokemons.

thanks for some of the replies. trusted the appraisal system and kept the best pokemon based on the table and only kept if the pokemon has two high stats but kinda surprised that there are some below 60% does size matter in this game?

Size doesn't matter; its probably just there for shits and giggles when appraising.
