I just checked my paypal now and one of the transaction that I sold 100mil to say's Payment Status : Held. Yesterday it was Payment Status : Completed. Also that money is not showing up in my paypal account. It's something I have to resolve. Does this mean I been scammed by the buyer or frauded. Also what do I do now. How do I get that money since I did pay that guy 100Mil in gold in game. Also I have screen shots of the whole chat and the transaction of 100 mil in game with that user.

It's because Paypal thinks you're scamming, not that you are being scammed. They think you're selling too much too quickly and are now holding your money until they rip out other private/personal info from you (SS#, tracking info, address, Driver's License etc). Then, from my experience, they'll tell you sorry, we're going to close your account and hold your money for 180 days. You might get lucky and have them release your funds, but honestly, not very likely.

    Lesson: Fk Paypal!

    I wish you the best!

First of all im' from sacramento as well and now live in fremont and work in San Jo haha nice to see someone who's from the same place. Now for this paypal thing. Is this something that the paypal user did that put a held on the funds or paypal them self did that. Also I had about 50 last night in my paypal accnt now it's showing 40. Will they also hold the 40 dollars. or just the 10 bucks. I was thinking about uploading the SS that I took while this transaction was going on in game. Will that help in any case. Thank you for your reply 408

Um, they might eventually hold all the funds if they think it's needed. I've had paypal reverse a bank withdrawal 2 days after I imitated it, so they can definitely reverse any money you have transferred to your bank etc. Unfortunately paypal will care less about your SS from the game. They want concrete evidence that product is shipped and a simple USPS delivery confirmation wont do either. They want like FedEx or UPS tracking info. My advice, fight them on this, call them, complain etc, and wait for your money to clear after 180 days because more than likely it'll head down that route. I'm sorry I can't be the bearer of any good news, 4 Paypal accounts later, I think I know a thing or two about their practices.

I do believe Paypal has recently implemented a 14 day hold. Maybe your money is held up in that hold period. It's to keep the money in case the buyer does a chargeback or claim.

Checking your email might help lol.. They usually send a mail saying why... Or check the resolution center.. Ask paypal, the reason it's held, not us. If we know the reason, then maybe can be some help. Else it's all speculation.

The other guy has to deal with this.. Paypal wants to verify his info.. This can happen if they don't use the account for a long time or something. I've had it happen with one of my danksole donations, 4-5 days later it went through.

Hmm. K k . Thank you Dank and 408 for the fast replies. I guess i'll just wait and see what happens. Btw I asked the guy at paypal center since I called them. I asked him if there's any way to prevent a hold or chargeback on digital items. He said no. So how can I be sure someone won't pull some shady shit like that on me.

To prevent scams, you must get them to pay you via a gift and through a bank account rather than a credit card.
In this case the buyer might not have been trying to scam you, but it's extremely easy for them to do so and there's really nothing much you can do about it because when it comes to digital items, Paypal is caveat venditor - "let the seller beware."

    It's not her info, it's the buyer's.
