Pro Privacy Search Engine Hits 30M Daily Searches
Earlier this week privacy focused search engine DuckDuckGo has announced it has hit 30 million daily searches. Whilst this pales in comparison to search engine giants, Google and Bing, 3+ billion daily searches, it does see quite a sizeable improvement in DuckDuckGo's take-up rate. Since it's inception, it has taken seven years to reach just 10mill daily searches, and another two years to reach 20mill. However within a year after reaching that they have achieved 30mill, an increase in traffic by 50%, with no signs of slowing down. This growth shows an acceptance of pro privacy search engines, with DuckDuckGo refusing to track nor profile its users. Instead it relies on ad revenue that targets each instance of a search, using keywords. This along with affiliate ad revenue is enough to sustain the search engine which has secured an extra $10 million USD in its second round of VC funding. The company has stated they will use this funding to have a more "global" reach, tailoring the search engine to each local market. It could also be used to provide more privacy tools for the end consumer such as their tracker blocker realeased earlier this year.
Juice WRLD and Future - WRLD on Drugs
Future and Juice WRLD dropped a mixtape this past week titled "WRLD on Drugs". Whether or not this project was supposed to be rather serious or if it's main goal was just an interesting collab between two different artists. Upon my first listen through I was not very impressed with this tape. It seemed like the majority of the songs on this mixtape had many flaws. The main flaw I could find on every song almost was that one of the rappers sounded like they didn't belong. Maybe on one song Future would sound 'off' or just a bit weird on the beat but Juice would sound great and vice versa. The beats weren't too too terrible, but I expected a little bit better for the likes of this duo. Overall I wasn't impressed at all, and personally this mixtape doesn't have much repeatability. If you like either artist I encourage you to at least give the tape a listen through, but just know that I warned you; it wasn't that great of a listen.
You can listen to this mixtape here.

NFL Week 6 Takeaways
NFL Week 6 has been pretty interesting so far. The Falcons, Vikings, and Steelers have all so far done well and won their games, and many other teams have also shown promise to improve and prove themselves as formidable teams during games. The first major match of this week was between the Steelers and the Bengals. The final score was 28-21 in favor of the Steelers, and this shows that the Steelers have significantly improved, with Conner averaging 5.8 yards per carry. This shows that they have improved their offense quite a lot compared to last week. The game between the Rams and the Broncos also was exciting, with the Rams pulling off another win. During this game, Tod Gurley made a new career high for rushing yards, with a total of 208 yards during the game. Although the Broncos did improve their defense, it was no match against the Rams. This game marks another notch for the undefeated Rams for this season.
‘Who did this?!’: Someone put googly eyes on a historic Georgia statue. Police want answers.
It may look funny, but it's a crime - that was the message from officials in the US city of Savannah. Their words came after somebody placed googly eyes on a relief sculpture of Nathanael Greene, a Revolutionary War general buried in the city's historic Johnson Square. In a Facebook post, the local government organisation wrote: "Who did this?! "Someone placed googly eyes on our historic Nathanael Greene statue in Johnson Square. "It may look funny but harming our historic monuments and public property is no laughing matter, in fact, it's a crime." The post seemed stern but many of those who saw it - it has been shared more than 23,000 times in just a few days - responded with a mixture of humour and exasperation. One person replied: "Let's worry about something a little more serious. It'd cost 50x more just to put them in jail for a day", while another wrote: "Maybe you could entertain the revolutionary idea of simply removing them? It's really not that difficult." Others wrote about the "googly eye bandit", saying the culprit should be "tarred and googly-eyed". Police spokeswoman Bianca Johnson told local media the person responsible would face trespassing charges, as they would have crossed a fence to get to the statue. Greene is buried under the 50ft marble monument, which suffered no other damage.
