AMD Phenom II X4 970 runs off a AM3 socket. Its part of my next build. Im getting Crossfire 6850's, but that might be too expensive for you. Just go with a 5770.

Hi guys, so i have a motherboard supporting AM3 socket processors (got it for free) its a rly new one my friend bought and he didnt realise processors have different sockets, lol so he gave it to me in exchange for my old computers mobo that supported his CPU, anywho im thinking about the AMD Phenom x6 1090T but ive heard that hexa-core processors are bad for gaming, can someone recomend anything else, with a GPU in the same pack to eliminate bottlenecking and stuff, just tell me something good...

if only I could crossfire 6870s... got a nub 250gts
games are not optimised for hexas yet, and i u do go hexa get the 1055t, saves u $100 for better bang for buck, however you are better off with a x4 965 black
for gpu either 6870 cfx or gtx460 sli or one of the higher ati or nvidia cards
