Grimoire 3.8+ Kill for Temp items issue

I have an issue with the Kill for Temp items in Grimoire 3.8+. I'm currently farming for Penance for the Forge enhancements. The quests I'm doing (Wrath Against the Machine, Hanged for Treason, Violence's Gatekeeper) only require 1 temp item to complete them, hence I only need to kill the bosses 1 time to complete the quests. However, even if I set the quantity of Kill for Temp items to 1, my character still kills the bosses a second time, and only then turns in the quest.

Although I'm not really bothered by the extra time it takes to complete the quest (I'm already botting so I'm not complaining), I wish to learn what I'm doing wrong so that bots that I make in the future wont suffer from my mistake, if there is any.
