Rotmg Price Grabber
Hi all this will be my first public release for RotMG

With auto trading and merching bots on the rise how can be sure you are selling and buying your potions for the right price?
look no further than the RotMG Price Grabber!

What it does:
The RotMG Price Grabber looks at the potion offers on Realmeye.com and averages the buying and selling prices of the potions while removing inaccurate outliers to deliver you the most accurate potion prices in real time.

Implemented now:
  • Realtime Potion Prices
  • Generated Reports
  • Snazzy batch script to execute cuz i suck at making GUIs

Future implementation:
  • All items with accurate prices
  • Blacklist items (Partially implemented but useless because its only potions ATM)
  • GUI
  • Threading to give you real time price updates

This could be hugely exploited by someone listing a bunch of fake low/highball offers. Otherwise it's a very nice idea

Iv'e made it so any offers that are below or above a certain price differential from the already calculated average are not taken into effect, however one thing i could not think of a means to solve was dealing with say someone posting 100 offers to sell life for 7 def which meets the threshhold requirement but also will skew the data.

i.e if i were to post 100 offers selling life for 7 def it makes it seem like more people are selling life for that price so i guess i would have to track offers/user which is pretty complex.
Cool, instead of averaging, maybe use the average of the medians? Like, find the median and its neighbours, and average them out.
Approved sorry about the delay!

No problem thanks!
Nice release. Would be awesome if I could type in an item name or item id and have it grab the price of it, that would save a lot of time.

Yeah that way if you're unsure of an item's worth when someone's trading you, you can find an average very quickly instead of having to find the item on realmeye and then work out what the average is by looking at the prices that people are buying and selling for.

Working on a new GUI that allows you to select an item from a drop down menu and retrieve its price. Also in the GUI will be a ticker for potion prices running in a separate thread so you have everything together. Going to work on perfecting the removal of BS offers and delivering more accurate prices.
Update:

Been working on the new GUI and plugging features into it. im not gonna do anything with images for textures or anything so its gonna be plain jane.

Here's what iv'e got so far:

Haha yeah nothing like looking through the sites source and finding those patterns that make it possible Also update on the project, as iv'e been testing with more high price items, iv'e noticed that my old method for removing bad data has become obsolete due to the higher price item offers varying by greater amounts of def. So because of this i will need to change the program over to analyze the standard deviations of each offer set to accurately remove the bad data... oh fun.

All functionality for the GUI is hooked save a button to control whether on new item price get request the program will go get fresh potion prices or use the most recent.

have fun working on your program lol
