Why do the Islamophobes blame Islam and not the extremist "Muslims?"

But for the sake of the argument lets just say Islam does teach to kill all non-muslims for no reason. Even if it does teach that, if a person goes and kills someone, the person is obviously still to blame not what he read.

It is like someone committing a murder and then saying it wasn't my fault because I was told to do it in a book. Do you think the judge in court will say, "that's fine then you are not guilty and it was the books fault?"

It's weird that only Muslims do this, as usually Christians are not as desperate to label anyone who dislikes there religion as having a phobia of it.

A phobia doesn't mean just being fearful of something it also means being hateful. It is irrational to fear Islam, Islam is just teachings in books. How can writing hurt you to be afraid of it? It isn't irrational to be fearful of extremists though.

A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder, usually defined as a persistent fear of an object or situation in which the sufferer commits to great lengths in avoiding, typically disproportional to the actual danger posed, often being recognized as irrational.

If the fear is rationalized even if the rationale is wrong it is not a phobia. Being hateful is not being phobic. Learn the difference.
