Question What motherboard should I go with?

Price limit is no more than $75

These are the two motherboards I am interested in, I want the best I can get for my price range.

    Motherboard:
    $69.99 | NEWEGG ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ ATX - goo . gl / 8cHqap
    $64.99 | AMAZON Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AM3+ ATX - goo . gl / InLXb5

(If you know any PCI Express 3.0 motherboards for my price range please reply below)

PCI-E 3.0 is more of a gimmick like DDR4 ram than it is actually more useful than PCI-E 2.0. Unless you're packing 3X+ graphics cards you won't be needing PCI-E 3.0.

Personally go with whichever motherboard has either the most solid reviews or whichever one I want. Asus is a great company but their quality control is severely lacking sometimes. Gigabyte though always makes you pay for return shipping to their RMA facility and the RMA process COULD be lengthy.

Your first option was my original board, and it worked great for me for years and never had any issues.
    Would recommend.

    Two problems with your suggestion:
    1: Its over $75.00
2: Its Intel socket not Amd am3+

OP get the Asus(Gigabyte may be good as well haven't tried them yet) they have really good software out of the 3 brands i tried so far (Asus, Msi, and Asrock). If you want to upgrade into a 9590 you might want to look into a 990fx motherboard instead of 970.

I got it for 67$ and pretty sure they sell it with AMD socket also according to their website.

Are you recommending msi?brand not the motherboard? gaming series?)

The motherboard you posted is intel chipset just from the prefix z170(they would NEVER name an amd motherboard like that). The amazon and newegg price is $179.99. The motherboard is only made for intel and there is no socket compatability with amd(or variations of this motherboard). Forgive me if i link on where you got the price and the socket information(its not on the motherboard you stated webpage at least with your numbers or socket type).

Did you mean the Msi 970 Gaming am3+?
-This one is $69.99 dollars but quite a bit different than what you originally posted.

Buy the Asus, their quality is top notch. My fathers spare computer i built him in 1998 (With an Asus motherboard in it) and its still running. it takes about 2 or 3 minuets to book up but it still works. Since that computer in 1998 I have built countless computers and i always try to install Asus motherboards in them just because they have never let me down.
