This is way below average here, and I can barely do anything on it. When somebody else is downloading something I basically have no internet.

Her, as in the friend that I live with. She doesn't know anything about internet. She think's that is a perfectly reasonable speed. She often complains about the slow speed and even after me explaining doesn't know why. I pay for half the internet but she thinks she controls all of it.

If this wasn't BS, you could simply ask her if she wants to upgrade the internet plan so that you guys won't have to deal with slow speeds.

I use to have 130kb/s a few years ago, that was hell....I upgraded to 12mb/s but downgraded to 6.5mb/s now.

That's terrible. I hate my internet because of how slow it is and it's at 6-10mb/s. I wish I could upgrade but my apartment complex doesn't have any upgrades (I don't think) and after paying to actually live here and go to school, I'd rather not add another bill.

It depends on what you get and where you live. Most people in Australia use ADSL2+ and they get horrible speeds, (3-5mb/s) I have seen speed test of people who live in Sydney and Melbourne, they get around 50mb/s, not sure what there bundle is though. Master131, posted his internet speed, he got around 100mb/s because he was using cable. Remind you, it is 90 dollars a month.
