Governments shouldn't be policing people, but they need to be there. Why do we have police? To keep us safe. Why do we have an army? To keep us safe. Why do we have prisons? To keep us safe.
I have a couple of questions for you;
If anarchism is the superior way to run a country, how would you deal with weaker people?Do we go with a darwinist approach and say "fuck em", or do we decide to help them?
How about crime? Is murder, rape and other horrible acts illegal or not? What about drug use? why?
If there is no police, no authority at all, who will keep us safe? How do we deal with criminals(murders, rapists etc.)?
You also claim that everyone is equal. How exactly are we equal? Ignoring the differences and working together is a goal to achieve, but claiming everyone is equal is a bit naive. How about rich people? A saudi prince sexually assaulted a woman and got away with it, does this give us all the same rights? What if it was a poor man from the ghetto? Would the outcome be the same? What about people with influences, how would you prevent them from oppressing minorities and marginalized groups?
Also lastly, if you want to look at what anarchism has done, just look at africa.
