I'll probably do this. I know the manager at GameStop, I can just walk right in there and say I got a defective copy and I haven't gotten around to getting it replaced until now.

Ok guys. Here's what's up. I, like an idiot, installed a brand new version of the game on the banned account so naturally the new clean cd key is associated with the banned account and i can't install onto a new account. Big deal right? yah...im a noob and totally spaced on installing the new game on a new account. Anyway, it's so much easier than e-mailing infinity ward. If you purchased a physical copy from a store and that copy is now associated with a banned account just take it to walmart. Walmart has NO receipt policy. They may ask for a receipt but just tell them you got it as a gift for your birthday or something. Anyway, tell them that you tried to install the game and it says cd key invalid. They'll do an exchange for a fresh copy for you. Take that home and install it on a NEW steam account. Problem solved
