I Have A Legit Apple Serial Number From A Product. Is There Anything I Can Do With It

So a couple months ago I got a laptop refunded then I sold it. Then when I shipped it the USPS "lost" the package. The reason I put quotes around it is because I believe someone at the USPS stole it, but that's neither here nor there at the moment.


I've heard things about having serial numbers. So I still have the serial number to the package I lost & I wanted to know what are my options if any.

Also the product was bought from Amazon not Apple but it is an Apple laptop if that makes any difference.
