BO2 ON PC WITH CONTROLLER

I have bo2 for my pc and i have connected my xbox one controller in and then on bo2 itself i enabled gamepad and then my controller works for a bit and then all of a sudden it just randomly cuts out so i unplug the controller and plug it in again and then it works for like 5 seconds and then will get stuck on the last button i press or thumbstick i moved. I have no issue with my controller because i use it on other games with no issue. Please help get my controller to work. I understand that people will want me to use a keyboard and mouse but i trickshot so that is no help to me.
