"If an account that has a phone number registered to it receives a VAC or Game ban, all other accounts that used the same phone number at the time of the infraction will also receive a ban. If the other accounts do not own the game they will still receive the ban and be unable to purchase the title on that account. The phone number on an account that receives a ban will be suspended for three months and cannot be applied to another account during that time. The cooldown duration for applying a phone number after a ban will increase each time a cooldown is applied."

When I read the update right when it came out, I quickly removed my phone number on my VAC banned account and haven't received a VAC ban at all. But I believe this only applies to accounts that have recently been VAC banned and not accounts that have been VAC banned a while ago and share the same phone number as another account.

that's what i'm scared of. so if we've had a previously VAC banned account from a couple months ago, it will or will not apply to my current account?

I think those bans are mostly for tf2

Since the update is so new i don't think it will effect old bans then, but in the future make sure that you don't have your main account linked to your smurf or "hack" account to the same phone number.

Got banned a few months ago, around christmas time. Hearrd about this update, removed all my numbers from everything except my main and my alt both of which have never touched hacks and they are now both banned as of Saturday. Rip the 150$ I just spent on skins these past 2 months....

It applies to the accounts that both have the same number at the time of receiving VAC.

This is something that I'm fine with since the account that I use now got CS:GO after the VAC ban.
