Windows XP with all fancy gfx shut off and all processes off = fast computer. Windows 7 is too new to just shift to for me, and Vista just blew.

Ok, now sorry for this major bump for you veterans on MPGH, but for those who are not, please please please, stop begging for hacks compatible with XP. Why cant you guys see that your 2 models behind, and that the world is going to move on with or without you, and most likely without?

But I'm not going to just leave you full of despair and self-pity.
If you want illegal hacks, you might as well instead of buying a new comp., download a pirated windows 7.

[1]You should already have a torrent application, if not, this is the best one.
[2]download this torrent, and with bittorrent, only select 32bit or 64bit to download based on your system type.
[3]Once the download is finished, extract all files from the .iso file with winRAR in the files tab in Bittorrent.
[4]run setup.exe
[5]choose upgrade windows version instead of clean install.
[6]once done, enjoy win7 for like 5 minutes, then go to:
start > computer > (C): > Windows.old > Nexon
[7] drag that folder to C: drive and you wont have to reinstall combat arms.
Yay, your done, and you'll never get caught.

Everyone complains about how XP is shit compared to Vista and 7, and frankly, Ubuntu 64 bit is better than all 3. I've used Ubuntu and XP on the same computer for years. I've tried installing Vista and I've tried installing 7 too. All I have to say is that you can't judge the quality of an OS based on your half-assed opinions and observations. Unless you have a computer with both OS's on (XP and 7, XP and Vista) you can't compare them. IF you were to take both OS's (I.e. XP and Vista) and perform all registry and performance tweaks, you will see that XP benchmarks higher than Vista in nearly every aspect except for multi tasking, trailing behind at only a small percent. Ass for software/hardware failure and viruses... seriously, if you don't know how to take care of your computer to keep it from getting infected or know how to research equipment before you install then you're a fucking retard. The only reason why XP will be no longer supported by Microsoft in 2014 is because they failed horribly with Vista and 7 is looking the same way, so they need to push their new OS on the market. The Superfetch feature is junk and only helps the initial loading of an application- it does not make it faster. If you want better raw performance, go with XP or Ubuntu. As for Vista and 7, if you want to load about 10 different apps at the same time then that's the way to go.
