Enhanced Steam Account Creator ("lets not break the rules" edition)

So this script has been posted here there and everywhere, most notably in this section. It no longer works and was a bit dodgy. I've made some tweaks and am releasing my changed back to the community.

- Removed a useless feature.

AutoHotkey - a free, open-source macro-creation and automation software for Windows that allows users to automate repetitive tasks.



Instructions:

Step 1: Download and install Auto Hotkey. It is a free tool you can use to script macros, and is what this script uses. You cannot be VAC banned for using this tool, although many games such as World of Warcraft and some game servers may not like you using this software. Use at your own risk.

Step 2: Download and extract this script to your desktop. Run the script by double-clicking on it and fill in the details you would like. DO NOT CLICK CREATE.

Step 3: If you are currently logged into steam, log out. In addition, disconnect any steam accessories such as the Steam Controller, as these create a popup on new accounts. Once all this is done, close Steam.

Step 4: Once Steam is closed, hit "Create" in the GUI created by the script. From there, leave your keyboard and mouse alone and let the script do its thing. Note: This script is very dumb. If you change focus from what its doing, it will get lost. So please, don't touch anything.

Troubleshooting tips:

Internet explorer pops up and asks me to do something!
That's the script executing steam://settings/friends/ in order to change your name. If you open the script, you can see what it's doing at lines 237 through to 270. Make sure that internet explorer doesn't show popups for any of these actions (in other words, the first time startup popups and the "what should we do with 'steam://' urls" popup).

When I tell it to change my name, it doesn't do anything
It may have desynced. It's supposed to give Settings enough time to exist, but sometimes its a bit hasty. Try clicking on the top part of the Settings window, above all the window's elements. It should take off from there. If not, it's completely desynced because steam decided to activate the name field automatically. It sometimes does that.

It just logged me into my steam account, it didn't create a new one.
You didn't log out. This script was once able to log you out, but steam did something and now the way that worked doesn't work anymore. You now must do it manually. I've adjusted the procedure to adjust for this.


I will not be offering much support for this. I also take no credit for the original script. I only take credit for making it work again.

When i open it up and press create , the code opens the steam login page thing. From then on it needs to click "Create a new account" but instead it clicks "I can't sing in". Is this a problem on my end or is it the code's fault? Because of that i can't use it correctly. Sometimes it works.

It's because your old username is still in the box so the script skips one too many times. To manually fix this go into the script using notepad and remove one of "send, {tab}" commands and also one of the "sleep, 300" commands and it should perform one less step and operate correctly. Hope this helps!

Holy shit I had honestly forgotten all about this thread until xcrysdale's post pinged me an email.

If people are still having issues with it, I'd like them to screen record the process that steam takes and send it to me. If need be I can create specialized versions for people who have misbehaving steam installations.

That's normal. If you don't put an IP in the IP Address field, it will tell you it didnt find an IP address. The code is open source, so if you don't trust me you can take a look at it yourself.

You cannot. This script isn't designed to create numerous steam accounts and save them to a file. This script is designed to create a single steam account for immediate use.

As an alternative, you can write down the login information before creating the account, and do that several times. I estimate you could generate 5 accounts in less than 10 minutes.
