this happens in a lot of cases where the parents are divorced, and the kid lives with one parent, rather than the other.

If one of the parents takes the child somewhere, without informing the other parent and refuses to say where they are, i'd say that could probably be classified as a kidnap.

Lol it`s simple. Divorced parents are different since each has different custody rights. If you take your child from your Ex when he/she is not in suppose to be in your custody then it`s kidnapping. If it`s your normal son and he is under 18, full custody, he can try to run all he wants but he`s your son and you take care of him.

Well that all depends. If they are divorced and moved away from each other and the mother is keeping the child and the father seeks in and takes the child then yes it is kidnapping your own child.
