Fate/Kaleid? Is it good, why are there so many seasons, and how canon is it?

I've been a fan of the series ever since Fate/Zero (Stay/Night wasn't that interesting), and I came across the Fate Kaleid series about Illya. They have been pumping out at least one season every few months at a rate much faster than Durarara!!! and I've been wondering how good is it, and where does it fit in the fate universe? Is it an alternative universe, or are the events actually what happens after Stay Night?

There are multiple universes in the series. However, it is still technically canon, because it is the Ilya route.
