How does +rep work?

I used to think rep just went up once every time someone gave you rep. But I've gotten multiple +reps at time, but I never see my number go up. So I'm curious if anyone knows how the system works.

I don't really know but I think it depends on different things like post count and join date etc.

When someone presses this button on one of your posts you'll get reputation based on their reputation power.

So when your repped, your rep power goes up, and you can only give rep if you yourself have been given some?

Rep power is determined by the number of posts you have and rep you have.

My current rep power is 100 because of the number of posts/rep I currently have.

Your rep power increases when your posts increase, depending on your rep power the person who was repped by you will get more rep points.
You can check your rep power in the settings.

1.) Time you been a member
2.) How many posts you have
3.) How much rep you have

Those 3 things are taken into account.
