@Slaystation I would use something a bit bigger like the 24" ones.
They do cost $200 but you can pay significantly less if you get it through a buy4u amazon service.
I am trying to get a decent BenQ Monitor for my PS3 so I can play with the least lag possible. (For fighting games, especially if you ever consider going to tournaments for them, it is essential.)
I found one BenQ FP767 17" LCD Monitor for cheap, however, I don't know if it will be worth it if I do not know it would be useful in my endeavors.
If anyone can find me a decent BenQ monitor, used or new for less than 70 bones, that would be fantastic.
there's nothing left for you here.

17 inch is big, But if you want to get something good and bigger get something with a little bit bigger of a size :P
I used to have 17 inch. Now I got a 24". I could never go back to a small screen.

@Slaystation
Get something small with a high refresh rate. Assuming as before you dont want any amazon shizzle, it's best to buy something quality just at a smaller size.
I can help you look later when im back... Need to sleep now
Why does it need to be BenQ?
@Slaystation I wouldn't recommend getting the BenQ if you want true HD. The monitor isn't HD compared to normal HD 1080p monitors 75hz. The screen is good for fps games but so much of the color is washed out and it doesn't look good.
Also this monitor may cause vision problems.. I started to have these vision problems [Double Vision] after using the monitor for few months. This monitor is brighter than other ones, which may cause my vision problems. I have been to the doctor and they've said it's due to staring at monitor too long, which is probably false because my friends plays longer than me and he's older than me and he's never had a vision problem, he also haves a different monitor "Asus". So it's not about looking too long, it's probably because the benQ brightness.. Also I've heard this type of Monitor can get stuck pixels that can stay permanently, which happened to me when I first opened it from the box.. new.
This is basically my opinion so it isn't any fact or anything...
Btw, I have the BenQ-XL2411Z Monitor. $300 when I purchased it.

I think it would be a better idea if you wait for Black Friday and buy a PS4. It'll cost a lot less. Maybe you can wait it out until then and buy the monitor instead.
After some more digging around it turns out a 144hz monitor is a minimum of $200 on newegg and others so I guess that's kinda out of the window.
This one has a 1ms response time, slightly over budget. Might be solid though
