Fuck them body mass calculators bro. It's different for every person.
So I've been going to gym for 2 months now and i decided to measure my body fat % to see where i stand. They used some machine where you hold onto two handle thingys and put your feet on a specific spot and apparently it reads all this stuff about you like body fat% muscle mass etc etc. So at 17 y/o ,175cm tall and 65.4kgs i was surprised to see that i only had 9.1% body fat and about 55.4kgs of muscle mass(dont know if muscle mass is good) because even at this low of a body fat% i thought you should naturally be able to see abs however the only time i see my abs is when i flex as hard as i can and even then i can only see like 2. Is it possible that they did the readings wrong? or do i need to build more muscle/ target my core area to see them. Because from what I've read on the internet is that you should be able to naturally see abs at a low body fat% i cant even see a V line for crying out loud. I just have a flatish stomach when i stand up. I'm pretty sure they did the measurements wrong, what do you guys think?
P.s I never really did ab/core workouts, i was mainly focusing on building muscle on my arms back and shoulders + a healthy diet.

You need to train for the abs not just to be slim lel

STILL ALIVE!
I got about 4% body fat and got abs, my friend got around 1% and don't have them.
It's not depends on the body fat only, ab workouts are necessary in order to have abs.
Things like that are different from person to person.

Bodybuilders only have 3-4% body fat and that's only when they are doing a competition eg for a few hours, your body needs fat to survive,if you had that amount of body fat you'd be dead so stop lying.

I feel like there's a tiny layer of fat blocking them from showing but yeah i agree with you I'll just keep training until the abs start to reveal themselves . I was simply curios whether abs show naturally at a low body fat % . Maybe my fat is more distributed towards the stomach but fuck it I'm just gonna go hard on abdominal exercises and cardio till it comes off or till abs start to show .

Most likely you're over estimating how low your bf % is.
10% is roughly where you start seeing abs. Also, you don't work your core? hmm...
post a pic and i'll tell you whats up.
