Ignore the first step, since it is a little outdated. You can get your client from here or use one you already have.

It can also be done with an .exe, but finding the files is a little tricky if you don't know where to look already.

Also texture pack sounds too minecrafty and makes me cringe when it is related to realm. I'd rather refer it to custom sprites

You weren't looking at the sprite sheets, those are the images used by the Orape Event Notifier.
