    New Graphics Card help

Upgrading my GPU Next pay check (Wednesday)

I gamed at 1400x900 for the last 3 years, upgraded to 1080p

Current Card is an R7 260X 2GB with a Overclock of 300Mhz over reference (1300 total)
Certainly no longer ideal for gaming at all.

Looking at the Nvidia GTX 1050 series,

for 1080p is it work spending the extra $50 for the TI Verison?
Or is there a better AMD Card for the price?

RX480 is the best performance/dollar card in the market right now. There are deals w/ rebates that often bring it down to $150-$160 (4GB) which is a total steal. Will be WAY better than a 1050 or 1050ti. Not to mention there isn't a $300 premium for a Freesync monitor like it does for GSync.

Not in the market for that price range. Looking for something under $200 CAD before taxes. and im just playing at 1080p pretty sure 380 would be overkill

Just checked and the reference 480 is $309 cad

I just searched Newegg.ca and found this:
    https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...-706-_-Product

Even if you don't want to shell out $30-40 for an RX480 then get a RX470. RX470 still significantly outperforms a 1050ti (57% according to UserBenchMark).

That card looks pretty decent. However doesnt show how much power it needs, I have a smaller case and need something that doesnt take over 1 8 pin

This card takes one 8 pin connector according to the specs on the site. Most 450W+ PSU should be enough depending on your other parts. Aside from Freesync being much cheaper than GSync on monitors, AMD cards age way better due to constant driver updates as well as DX12/Vulkan support, which more and more games are using.

Other options would be a GTX970 or if you're thinking about a 1050 why not just go for the 1060? It is more recent and not too big of a price gap.

I don't think it's released yet. But it will be in a couple of days.

Would be no reason for me to get a 1080TI for 1080p gaming.

Plus thats months worth of paychecks
