    Exclamation GPU and PSU difficulties

I recently got a new GPU from a friend but my PSU only has a six pin when the GPU needs an 8 pin. My PSU is 550w and the minimum for the GPU is 500w but yet they arent compatible? Should i get a pin adapter or are there any other options. I dont have enough for a new PSU so thats not an option. Thanks for any help

You can tell us what the GPU is + check if your PSU has this cause I had the same issue, I bough a GTX 1060 and I had a 10 year old PSU:

It will run fine w/ your PSU. Get the adapter.
