But we can ensure deleted threads aren't permanently deleted, but soft deleted so it still stays on the site for all global moderators + MP minions to view and search for

And newers members that have no experience on this will have much trouble searching for the deleted thread and may lead to many reports not happening thus letting scammers get away with a few more victims.

newer members can just search for the thread and as a prefix, the thread will have [Soft Deleted].

No Ahlong was saying only admins and minions will see the soft Deleted prefix.Not simple users.Now the new users will have so much trouble finding the thread chances are he is going to let go of the report.

Just press the report button to have it deleted.
Another way is to double check before posting and to make sure that what you want posted remains what you want.
The 30 minutes option to remove your post will make things more complicated.
