"******" is (in context) not harmful, it is a derivative of the latin word niger, Meaning black, however over time the word itself developed into a "Offensive Term"and as most phrases, words (anything for that matter) it began to "reverse it's meaning and become more of a informal slang phrase then a ethnic slur (as it was originally used)

In either case, I think the "phrase" "******" shouldn't be offensive.

However, it truly depends on the context it is being used in, if you say it in anger, then you are trying to be offensive and the person on the other side should take it offensively , but as a "phrase" no one should be so uptight.

Example: "Nice Ass" (ass being the "Featured Word")
