guns are for us to protect ourselves against the government, thats why the amendment was made, every country that takes guns away from civilians do it for more control. even if guns are banned criminals can and still will get them, just normal people wont have them anymore.

Least our government and EU as a whole can do a better job at protecting their own citizens from harm of any bad that comes at us, but for some reason, US government cannot even do that so they allow people to have guns because government is not being trusted enough to do their job in a way that nobody feels unsafe from the citizens that are living in that country of yours... There has never been this amount of school shootings in Europe because we have different amendment and gun control overall, and overall people aren't gun orientated or want to have guns, and if they want to have a weapon, they have to seek their way out to have that special permission to even have one, and even then the rarely anyone goes to a school, which is a public place to kill someone or take a revenge on the people who are in that school, this is the first school shooting in US of this year, and trust me, there will be many more if nothing is being done, again US is that special snowflake where people need guns because their country feels unsafe because their government aren't willing to do much to keep them safe from any harm, no matter who is the cause of said harm, this is why most if not all european countries are far safer since WWII than US has been since then or after that.

Whatever or not its more than in front of news paper, nothing can be compared to what is happening in US to what happened in 1939-1945.

Hitler didn't only took the control of Germany, he pretty much took the control the whole EU at the time of it happening, a lot of countries were trying to fight back with its resistance, but were unable to because of the group being too small or the German army was too big, but after Germany pushed to Russia, USSR started to fight back, whatever or not Hilter did things is what he did during the time of his power is not in the question here, the question here is the public safety and how much people trust their own government to keep the citizens safe, for the lack of the better word, then in my humble opinion, US citizens for the most part lack the better-self to trust the government to get the job done, in a meanwhile, the whole EU is much or plenty more safe than any continent of US, sorry.

I definitely don't trust our government.
Im from Russia, I know how communism and government works. The huge difference between there and the US is that in the US we try to act like the good guys which we definitely are not. In Russia, they don't give a fuck if the public knows they're corrupt.

Millions upon millions of people own firearms in the United States. We are the only country that has such a vast history with guns. We have millions of legal and illegal firearms circulating within our country. The fact that we only have a few incidents per year involving mass shootings is astounding.

Furthermore, you fail to understand that we are not other countries. Our history with firearms is much different than every other country. Just because it worked for you does not mean it will work for us. While I do agree mentally disturbed individuals should not have legal access to own firearms, I do not believe stripping the rights from the millions of law abiding citizens that want to own guns for defensive or recreational purposes is fair.

There were two armed guards at the school.

If it was a gun++ zone it wouldn't made any difference. In reality not every teacher would have carried a gun, even if a teacher had a gun do we really need a gun battle at a school? In reality it was over in a few minutes, that's the fun of dealing with automatic and semi-automatic rifles.
