most people dont do that also you touch your phone multiple times a day and generally people dont wash their hands or when they eat the often hold their phone

More like instantly. There are so many germs around us. Everywhere we touch, there are bound to be millions of germs present. They aren't the kind of germs that will kill you (since your body is used to them) but I mean they can be harmful. How? Don't quote me on this one because I don't have great knowledge on this, but maybe they can possibly mutate into something your body isn't used to, resulting in sickness.

It's not surprising germaphobia is a real thing among some people. Those people are keenly aware of how there are so many germs there are present, and so they try really hard not to touch them whatsoever. I've seen people avoid handshakes by making excuses such as "my wrist is broken." lol

yeah as you said most germs arent harmful if you have a functioning immune system
theres just a few kinds that could actually be harmful like Staphylococcus those can make you pretty sick

but in general its really funny to see how most people are so afraid from germs from public places like toilets and door handles, but then never clean their phone (which in most cases has more and worse germs on it than the other places)
same for cutting boards and sponges in the kitches, those are generally worse than any place in the toilet
