It's not that deep. I'm asian and was raise in the hood so I was called "nigga" by my friends and used the word nigga. People who get hurt by it are sensitive.

I thought so, I don't remember you actually being Aussie. I know what you mean, I've been saying cunt since an early age and I don't think I can stop saying it. I even use it at work which is a semi professional environment. It's a force of habit, but I feel that when used in that kind of way it's not as offensive.

I say nigga all the time, it holds no other meaning to me than... Nigga.. You can't tell people what words they can or can't use, even if it's the N word with an ER. Yeah sure people who say nigg** specifically to black people are sub-humans who probably shouldn't be allowed to live in a civilized society, but that's the consequences of living in a country with freedom of speech. You can't dictate what or what isn't allowed, unless it's directly calling for an act of violence or destruction. Having freedom of speech means that people are going to be offended, and that's fine. It's just a word that the majority of black people get very angered by when said by anyone they don't 'rule as worthy'. Alas a lot of the younger African Americans use it as a 'filler word'. You can start any sentence with it and the context can range from a friendly "my nigga" to something like "nigga shut the fuck up". Other ethnicities see this and use it just the same depending on if they feel anyone would take offense to them saying that at that current time/place.



When I hear non-black teens say it to people who aren't black, I say sarcastically "Wait I didn't know you were black". Tbh I don't really care.
