If a server is VAC protected, you can get banned in it.

Your cheat you used probably was detected.

Have you ever cheated prior to this since VAC bans can be delayed.

Regarding VACNet, it is possible but it would've had to auto-banned you especially since you didn't cheat in an official game server, thus being unable to send you to Overwatch.

We can discuss about Overwatch ban only when you played at least one competitive. You didn't so it's not that.
Most probable, as you were on a VAC secured server, you were detected directly by the system and that's why you got the VAC. Usually the bans are delayed by several hours/days

it swapped from Gameban on account to vac and in game it says OW ban For Majorly Disruptive

Clearly you've cheated in a Valve official competitive match.

You were most likely sent to OW by VACNet and users watching the Overwatch demo found you to be cheating.

A. No I have not cheated in comp
B. There have been multiple cases of if you are being blatant it just auto bans you no OW needed Such as when using AA and getting a kill ETC...
C. Yes 1 game in deathmatch but that was the only server outside of community
