Best Anime of All Time

Thread says "Best anime of All Time" yet everyone is just talking about their favorite anime?!? you guys realize there's a difference between the two. Unless of course all of you really believe Naruto to be the BEST ANIME OF ALL TIME and it happens to be your favorite as well - OR Naruto happens to be the only anime you've seen. I love Naruto but I would never consider it to be one of the "best anime of all time" considering the very obvious surface-level flaws the anime has throughout (filler, animation problems) surely the "Best Anime of All Time" wouldn't have such blatant problems right? or am I just a crazy asshole?

Based on all the anime I've seen, I'd consider these to be some of the best (not necessarily my favorites, although some are):
- Serial Experiments Lain (TV) (1998) My nomination for Best of All Time.
- Cowboy Bebop (TV) (1998)
- Ghost in the Shell (Movie) (1995)
- Monster (TV) (2004)
- Perfect Blue (Movie) (1998)
- Gurren Lagann (TV) (2007)
- Ping Pong the Animation (TV) (2014)

the chimera ant arc of HXH is SSS tier

Really? I don't know if it is the best anime but HXH was definitely a favorite of mine however I enjoyed every arc but the Chimera ant arc. It really felt out of place for me in the whole show, it moved at a different pace than the rest of the show and so much things seemed off to me. The first thing I didn't like about it was how powerful Nen users had become in that arc compared to everything we had seen before in the show. it felt like they just made everyone super powerful to fulfill the insane growing power levels like DBZ or Naruto. Honestly alot of Nen abilities shown made no sense in this arc from the very little we were told about Nen before in the show. Also Another thing about the arc that bothered me was that it was narrated during the episodes so much, instead of just letting the show play out we were told everything that we watched like we were monkeys who didn't understand shit. Some stuff the Narrator spoiled or explained the thinking of characters that didn't matter much to the viewers or we could have deduced ourselves. One really big thing that bothered me was that I remember there being things that didn't make any sense, like kite being reborn as the girl in the end. it made no sense to me because Pitou didn't feed kite to the queen she made him into a soldier for training purposes.

Honestly I am not trying to diss your interests or anything you have a right to your opinion and I am sure you have reasons for liking it, I just wanted to point out my thoughts to you and see what you think about them.

I completely agree with you, I would just like to add FMA brother hood to that list and also state that imo it is the best anime in alot of ways.

There needs to be a "Best Shounen of All Time" thread because I don't know if any longrunning shounen (shounen jump series) could come close to simply "Best of All Time"

Naruto is pretty 10/10, but it's thanks to having sooooo many episodes. Once you're 100ep's in you're locked in haha

Although there is some really amazing shorter anime in my op.
