I don't think you executed your texturing well. Did you understand what Helix was saying in his tut?

The crack effect?
Not really, I just added it because the tut had it and also to give it a more chaotic feel to it. And the whole angled stroke thing was actually an accident, I just added it and thought I'd take it down later and then realized at the end that it's a filter and can't be deleted like a grad map or photo filter.

Yeah the angled stroke was a bad idea. When applying filters apply them on a new Applied Image and make sure label them. You also have to remember not to make too many Applied Images afterwards otherwise it'll be a bitch to remove the filter later.
