Apply hairspray to your hand and light it up, I've done it several times before.

And it works, the fire will burn the hair spray before it starts to burn you.

Same with a thin coat of alcohol.

Just have some sort of liquid to put out the flames when they DO start to burn your skin.

Or shake it violently, avoid hitting your clothing and getting the liquid on your clothes when you do so.

Have milk or something. A dense liquid (water doesn't always work) should easily put out the flame if it where to start breathing on your skin.

Better yet just make napalm (styrofoam + gasoline) and put it all over your body.

Orange/Yellow flame can be held for quite a while compared to other heat sources such as blue flame, hot metals etc.

The trick is to have the right amount of fuel (alcohol) so that it forms a decent flame whilst only having just enough to sustain the flame for a short period of time.
