Shooting buckshot at that speed would ruin barrels pretty quickly, and shotguns have little to no range/armor piercing capability compared to others

The military might have already tried this earlier. After all, their always considering new ways of warfare, therefore military funding, and military scientists could test different kinds of things. most likely it was a failure of a test.

What would be the point of that...? Like Crusty said, shotguns literally have no range and armor piercing capabilities due to the fact that the shotgun shell shoots out fragments instead of bullets and what would do with it...? Its not like you're gonna storm in and start spraying cause chances are a sniper is gonna kill you before you can even start the gun up.
