I don't see the point in having credits in hacks unless they're un-patchable.
Mods on the other hand, should have credits and would be troublesome if somebody leeches.
Why? Hacks are too cliche and almost all coders are just people who leech of each others work.

but then the modding community is where the real shit happens.

If you work hard coding a hack just to find out someone leached it without credits it truly would piss you off. I mean what if someone took your mod, and just re-released with out credits? I never leach off anyone, because if anyone notices I pretty much only release non d3d hacks which contains ASM to Push commands, and from there its pretty much straight C++ (no one else's codes).
