The Youtube uploading feature is available if you want to upload it directly using your own Youtube account, but it isn't mandatory, it's just for convenience. If you don't upload to Youtube immediately, the .avi video file gets saved to your Combat Arms folder. From there, you can edit it with any video editor that accepts .avi files, a very common extension type.
@Sgtaswipe: Googling "free video editor" comes up with a multitude of options. If you're running Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker is the easiest option, but other downloadable ones such as Virtual Dub (Google that) should be simple to install and use.
